Purchased this bike from the Original Founder of Custom Chrome. It was restored for him in XXXX to be auctioned (XXth Sturgis Anniversary) off to raise money for the Sturgis Museum. (see picture) heard from people that were there, that it sold for XX to XXk back then. The XX is my favorite year and decided to restore back to original condition. Replaced both fenders with original sheet metal and since it had wrong cylinders, ended up rebuilding the entire top end and transmission (all new gears). Bottom end was correctly rebuilt in XX. This is an early ??E?? Model and has early heads. The XXXX Sales Brochure and late XX Enthusiast show the early heads with the plugs. The clutch rocker is mid XX, but can switch to early XX pedal that have (I like the later for riding) It has the narrow primary with belt drive. have small spacers between the inner and outer primary to allow for some cooling/venting. As seen on early XX models, the tool box mounting holes have the block type mounting instead of circular swage mounting. did LOT of research as was building this and there is always some kind disagreement with the experts on different details. This is one of my favorite bikes to ride and only selling it because have complete Xnd chassis (minus motor) and raising cash for Real Estate Project. built this bike to ride. The only reproduction parts are the air horn, exhaust system, brake switch, parkerized nuts and bolts, headlight mount, oil lines, Stainless spokes, gas caps and saddlebags. Left the pinstriping on the rims from the XX restoration. The Tanks do not have decals they were painted by hand by an artist. Great running bike with some typical oil weeping from top end. Clear Calif. title with XX plate. The original plate vibrated off and lost it. Had reproduction plate made to keep the number. If the bike sells out of Calif, will keep the plate.
