XXXX BMW R-XX Motorcycle Clone With Sidecar. purchased this about one year ago, as own couple of classic BMW motorcycles. Like the previous seller, the origin of the parts are unknown to me. The frame and motor are believed to be mixture of Russian and Chinese parts. Although the motor and frame are stamped with the traditional round BMW control stamp on the ends of the serial number, it is likely to be good reproduction effort. The engine and frame head badge is also stamped with German Wehrmacht stamp depicting an eagle over swastika. Once again, likely good reproduction effort. As received the bike titled as XXXX BMW R-XX, ran it through California DMW and titled it the same. The bike has clear California title and current plate. know the sidecar is Russian Irbit unit, and has gun mount and good upholstery cushions. Selling due to the fact have many projects and this bike needs some work to be daily driver. When bought the bike it had problem with the kick starter internal ), and the kick start would engage at the top of the stroke and would disengage and fail to crank when downward pressure was applied. That said, have bump started the bike couple times not an easy task with sidecar ), and it seemed to run pretty well. The kick start mechanism is still in need of repair. Additionally, the battery it came with started to leak and had trouble holding charge with little or no use, so discarded it. No battery included. Since the time the photos were taken, have carefully removed the bag mounts that were welded to the rear fender rack, without traces of removal or grind marks. Additionally, removed the bolt on bag mount that was on the side of the sidecar, as the bike came to me with an army type leather bags attached. Also, have removed the gray paint off of the taillight lens and polished the plastic lens, and also cleaned the exterior of the engine. Spare tire is flat, although new tube and rim band are included. I would like to keep it, as was going to repaint in satin black with red pinstripes, just too much going on. Selling "No Reserve".
