Correct ground up restoration of rare XXXcc, pre-unit, matching numbers, XXXX Triumph XT Thunderbird by Triumph expert and multiple concours winner Tom Ackroyd of Cape May, NJ. It was taken down to the frame, which was stripped and painted. The engine was rebuilt, the wiring replaced, new fasteners and fitted with new tires and rims. This bike had been in the hands of collector for number of years when purchased it in XXXX. $XXXX was just spent at marque specialist this past spring to get it ready for the road: new tires, tubes, primary case gasket, rear brakes, clutch hub and bearing, battery, fluids, adjustments and tune-up. halogen headlight, LED taillight, mirror and Shorai lithium battery have also been fitted for safety and reliability. The bike has accumulated only XX miles since restoration and it's one kick starter, if the proper procedures are followed. Period correct fuel petcocks will be supplied but they weep with locally available (XX% Ethanol) gas. The bike has clear title and is currently registered in New York State. There is small ding in the right muffler and paint chip on the upper right side of the tank (see photos). A recent job change and move to smaller house are forcing me to pare down my collection. The NADA price guide lists this bike at $XX,XXX but my reserve is much lower. The bike can be seen in person by appointment. I will work with your carrier for pickup but will not pack/crate it. My phone number is XXX XXX-XXXX. Please note that this vehicle is being advertised locally and could end the auction early if reserve isn't met.On Oct-XX-XX at XX:XX:XX PDT, seller added the following information:I purchased this bike from Northeast Sportscar and they still have dozens of photos of it on the web. Many are of much better quality than mine!
