XXXX Harley Davidson Roadster XLS one owner stock bike This bike is being sold on no reserve auction one bid takes the bikeThis is stock original XXXX Harley Roadster that bought from the original owner last JanuaryThis is the late year XXXX Harley Davidson Roadster model Vin HDXCBHXXEYXXXXXXBike has clear New Jersey title This is not sportster This is Roadster This is the late year model XXXX roadster The bike has XX,XXX original miles on itI installed brand new batteryI wanted reliable ignition so installed compu-fire selectable electronic advance modern system. The original Harley module must have gone bad while the bike was in storage. did not have spark when started diagnosing the bike. So purchased new reliable modern system. The clutch lifter broke on the bike about XX,XXX miles and the owner put it awayI repaired the clutch and then removed the carb I tried once in rebuilding the carb and did not have successI purchased brand new SS carb and air cleaner assy. and the bike started right upI removed the rear wheel and had brand new tire mounted on it and balancedThe overall condition of this bike would grade as good for XXXX street bike am not master mechanic and did my best to bring the bike back to life. The bike runs and idles fine. It starts up very easily with that brand new carb on it.The new ignition was very easy to install and pretty much dummy proof to set correctly. The bike should have lot more power for X,XXX motor. See my thoughts below for what think may be wrong but above my skill-set to correct or repair .X.) Do have the new carb adjusted correctly do not know this because am hesitant to mess with the factory setting's have not taken the bike on long rides only short test runs near my house. If did adjust it blindly and it ran with more power. Would hurt the motor long term by having it to Rich or lean This could be what is causing the issue.X.) Is there something am over looking on the new ignition system This could be what is causing the issue.I have the paperwork that came with the unit and it seems straight forward to me .X.) Could there be Valve problems This bike sat since XXXX when the owner broke small internal clutch part.I would assume and was advised by people giving me advise on this that valves can become compromised when sitting to long. This could be what is causing the issue. It is really cool looking stock Harley and you do not see Roadster's around very much. If you want to stand out in crowd of bikes without spending fortune This is the bike for you. really think that this bike in the hands of someone that knows older Harley's very well could have this bike running like clock The older gentleman that bought this bike from was very trust worthy person that was not looking to take advantage of anyone What ever the issues this bike is having right now stems from sitting since XXXX. Or my inability to install and adjust the $XXX worth of parts purchased for this bike correctly.
