Very clean, Nearly all original XXXX Harley-Davidson FLHTC Electra Glide Classic. Original Indigo Blue paint, nothing has been rechromed or replaced except where noted. Air cleaner was changed from "canned ham" style to the current one in the mi-XXXXs. The bike starts and runs great, perfectly suitable for daily driving. I am the Xnd owner, first owner bought it new in XXXX and rode it on trips from Chicago as far as Alaska, and the deep South. When bought it from him few months ago he was an XX year old plumber. Took very good care of all his belongings, including this Harley, which was probably his Xth or Xth in his lifetime. This is crossover bike, very rare due to it's combination of features: Electric start. Carbureted. Older style transmission. First year of the famed EVO motor. Combines the best of the classic Shovelhead style, but has the reliability of the Evolution.
The GOOD: Starts up immediately, every time. Runs beautifully. Acceleration is strong, brakes are fantastic. All lights work (except the rear right brake light built into the saddlebag may be loose wire). Great styling, and nearly all original including paint, chrome, etc. Seat was reupholstered several years ago and is very comfortable. The BAD: Neutral is difficult to find. I've only taken it on short rides, and need to hold the clutch in at stoplights. When I'm parked, can eventually find neutral but there is lot of slack in the foot shift. The clutch was rebuilt completely in July, XXXX for around $XXX. Other issues are cosmetic: an old rusty gash in the front fender (pictured) and generally worn areas of paint, chipped decal, and foggy windshield. It definitely looks well-loved and bit rough around the edges, which think is how XX year old motorcycle should look. have not cleaned or polished it... preferring the ready-to-ride look it has. I removed the passenger seat back and the "Tour Pack" box which holds helmet or other larger items. Nothing wrong with either one and both are included, of course. I do not offer any sort of warranty or guarantee. Bike is sold AS-IS. Has clear Illinois title, signed over but in still in the original owners name. From legal standpoint, you will be the second owner.Let me know if you have any questions. I'm happy to work with shippers, or you can easily fly to Chicago and ride this home, making beautiful fall road trip out of the experience.Video clip of cold start and in motion.
