The super sports bike still featured the same XXX cc V-X engine in its rectangular section pipe frame but this was the first VFXXXX to have gear driven cams that would become trademark of future VX Hondas The VFXXXXR modifications increased the claimed output of the VX engine to XXX bhp (XX kW)
