This CBXXX KX and is UK bike with current VXCI bought this in May XXXX with the intention of restoring it. It was given an assessment and started collecting parts but other projects delayed the restoration and over the intervening years my interest in it has waned and now prefer my gear change to be on the right. The last MOT by Chris Clarke Motorcycles expired on the XXth September XXXX and that's where the decline of this motorcycle started, it was packed away until was persuaded to buy it some XX years later. As you can see it has been re trimmed with fairing, rear sets, ace bars, crash bars and exhaust system but otherwise remains in standard trim, the kick-starter fouls the brake pedal so the electric starter must have been in working order when it was last used, you could probably kick start it but it hangs up behind the pedal when returning. From this you have probably worked out that the engine turns over ok.It could probably be made to run and use as it is but in my opinion full restoration would be the better option. All the chrome work has some degree of rust on it and the aluminium has surface corrosion, the frame has surface rust in places. The brakes were seized on have freed these enough to move it around) and the throttle wont twist. The handle bar switches move but have not connected battery to it to see what works. Both side panels have cracks in and the fairing screen is damaged. Inside the tank looks very clean and the seat base is solid.Parts collected towards the restoration include front and rear mudguards, headlamp ears and indicators, handlebars (correct ones with cable holes), kick starter, gear lever, brake pedal, seat cover, brake pads, three oil filters (two are genuine), foot pegs, sump gasket, spark plugs throttle cable and some side reflectors (genuine Stanley).I have the VXC and the expired MOTCome and have look and make your own conclusions, it is difficult to describe bike in this condition and photo isn't as good as the real thing. If you cant get to look at it ask questions on the items you are unsure about. The final bid price is not negotiable and will require cash on collection please. Collections need to be evening or weekends as agreed.
