The SBXR was originally purchased from Bimota by owners of U.S.-based team in the late XXXX's. It was then professionally uprated, including blueprinting, aggressive Yoshimura cam, XXXX CC bore, transmission enhancements, etc. Subsequent testing showed XXX HP at the rear wheel and new red-line of XX,XXX RPM (originally XXX HP and XXXXX RPM from the Bimota factory).
Original imported cost for XXXX SBXR would have been around $XX,XXX. Additional pre-racing investments by the original owner were also substantial. Contextually, the cost of building up competitive superbike can easily exceed $XXX,XXX. The SBXR was not fully modified to race livery, nor raced, before the team closed. It remains in street legal configuration.
The SBXR is jetted for ~XXXX feet altitude. When cold it will need to be warmed up patiently and likes to be ridden for mile or two before idling willingly. It has heavy duty transmission in race configuration (X up, down), with firm shifts and distinct feedback.
Original XXXX Bimota factory SBXR equipment included: - Carbon fiber body & tail. - Paoli carbon fiber forks. - Ohlins rear suspension. - Brembo dual front brakes with Bimota floating disks, - Brembo disk brake rear. - Steering damper. - Straight line unibody frame. - Pressurized airbox.
We purchased the SBXR in XXXX and kept it stored and maintained with Rising Sun Performance (RSP) in NM. RSP was the race performance shop and team mechanical support provider that had been servicing it since new. When Rising Sun closed in XXXX, we put the SBXR on display in private collection for few years and then brought it home. It is now ridden briefly once or twice per year, and periodic servicing is performed by retired technician in his private shop. He is an antique motorcycle collector and restorer, and the apex mechanic in this region for antique or high-end motorcycle owners. This SBXR can be serviced by any competent Suzuki motorcycle mechanic.

About Bimota (www.bimota.it) Bimota SpA was started in XXXX in Rimini Italy by Valerio Bianchi, Giuseppe Morri, and Massimo Tamburini (Bi-Mo-Ta). They design and build their own line of exotics, and the company and its people have also been involved with designing/developing Ducati, MV Agusta, and Lamborghini motorcycles. Bimota has always studied the market to see which drive trains are best of breed, purchasesthem directly from those manufacturers, remanufactures and enhances them to Bimota specs, and then designs and builds exotic motorcycles based on the new Bimota drive trains. Bimota model numbers indicate which drive trains they have been based on SB (Suzuki), DB (Ducati), YB (Yamaha), KB (Kawasaki). Bimota also collaborates with other major brands on special models, and both SB and YB models have won world superbike and other class championships. Per their exotic business model, the company has only built limited number of motorcycles each year, with very few making it to the U.S. market.
Thank you in advance, and best of success in bidding.
